Austintown Local Schools Calendar 2026-2027

Immediately west of Youngstown, Austintown operates a true grade-band system: Austintown Elementary serves kindergarten through grade two, Austintown Intermediate grades three through five, Austintown Middle grades six through eight, and Fitch High School grades nine through twelve. With one district building at each stage, nearly every student changes campuses at the same three points; the district has no neighborhood feeder chain. Preschool extends the entry point through the district’s partnership with the Mahoning County Educational Service Center, while the regular K–12 sequence remains unchanged.

Fitch is where this compact organization opens into wider choice. Students can combine the standard high-school curriculum with computer science and engineering, business, arts, world languages, career-based intervention, AP and College Credit Plus options, and Air Force JROTC. The JROTC program can also accept interested students from neighboring districts, giving Fitch a limited regional role alongside its local responsibilities. Austintown’s distinctive mechanism is a whole township moving through the same four buildings and finding most of its academic variety at the final stage.
