Lancaster City Schools Calendar 2026-2027

Lancaster City Schools serves its younger students through five elementary schools, then divides the middle grades between Thomas Ewing and General Sherman Junior High Schools. Both junior highs serve grades six through eight. Students from the two schools come together at Lancaster High School for grades nine through twelve, so the route begins locally, divides across two junior highs, and reunites at one high school.

Lancaster High is the comprehensive academic and extracurricular center, but career-technical education also has a distinct physical presence. Programs based at the Stanbery Career Center campus allow students to pursue occupational and technical fields while remaining part of Lancaster City Schools. Stanbery is a specialized secondary site outside the ordinary junior-high and high-school feeder map.

This arrangement gives families a simple grade map while preserving two different types of secondary experience. Most students move from one of five elementary schools to one of two junior highs and then to Lancaster High. Students choosing career-technical coursework may spend part of their later schedule at Stanbery, adding a program-specific campus without replacing the district’s shared high-school identity.
