About Marion City Schools
Marion City Schools begins with six neighborhood elementary schools, brings students together at Grant Middle after grade five, and continues the shared route at Harding High beginning in grade nine. Grant is the first districtwide campus, so the move after fifth grade changes both school size and the range of programs available to students.
Career exploration is unusually visible within that shared secondary route. JROTC reaches the middle- and high-school levels, while Harding offers pathways in areas such as advanced manufacturing, construction, global logistics, information technology, welding, and agribusiness. The agribusiness pathway includes a school microfarm, giving one of the district’s career programs a concrete local learning site. College Credit Plus, arts, athletics, and conventional academic courses operate alongside those options.
Grant and Harding are the shared secondary campuses, but students’ schedules begin to diverge through career pathways, College Credit Plus, JROTC, arts, and athletics. Marion keeps one grades 6–12 route while giving students several academic and technical directions within it.
