About Worthington City Schools
The first thing to know about Worthington is that postal addresses can be misleading. Its attendance map includes eleven K–5 elementary schools, four assigned middle schools, and two comprehensive high schools, Thomas Worthington and Worthington Kilbourne. Families in the district may have Columbus, Powell, Worthington, or Westerville mailing addresses, so the district’s address map—not the city name on an envelope—identifies the feeder.
Worthington also offers several secondary programs with their own entry rules. Phoenix serves grades seven and eight and admits its incoming class through a district lottery. Linworth Experiential Program accepts applications from Worthington high-school students, who may continue taking courses at their home campus. Worthington Academy provides another setting for students who are credit deficient or need a different schedule and support structure. Phase 3 facilities planning is studying elementary buildings and Sutter Park, but current attendance assignments remain in force.
