Fairborn City Schools Calendar 2026-2027

Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and Wright State University shape daily life in Fairborn as much as the city’s position east of Dayton. The district includes Fairborn, Bath Township, and military-connected families who may arrive from other states or countries. Student mobility is part of ordinary school life, and welcoming children into new classrooms is a recurring community responsibility.

The main path is organized into four citywide stages. Fairborn Primary serves preschool through grade two, Fairborn Intermediate serves grades three through five, and students then move to Fairborn Middle School and Fairborn High School. Because age groups are concentrated in shared buildings, children quickly become part of a districtwide Skyhawk peer community. Recent primary, intermediate, and high school facilities have also given much of that pathway a modern physical setting.

Military-family support, including Purple Star practices, helps schools respond to deployment, transfer, records, and social transitions. Wright-Patterson and Wright State also give aviation, engineering, technology, public service, and postsecondary planning a visible local context. In a community with frequent arrivals and departures, the district’s single age-banded sequence gives transferring students clear entry points and a common secondary destination.
