About Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools
Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools serves more than 8,400 students in Gahanna and parts of Jefferson and Mifflin townships. The district operates one preschool, seven neighborhood elementary schools, three middle schools, and one high school. The ordinary route follows attendance boundaries, and the district does not accept interdistrict open enrollment. More than 55 home languages are represented, so enrollment, transportation, and school communication operate across a notably multilingual community.
Students typically remain in a neighborhood elementary school through grade five, move to Middle School East, South, or West for grades six through eight, and then converge at Gahanna Lincoln High School. The single high school concentrates a broad course catalog, assigned counselors for all students in grades nine through twelve, arts, athletics, clubs, and college- and career-planning in one destination. English Learner screening begins when enrollment information indicates another home language, connecting language support to the same neighborhood-to-centralized sequence.
Facilities play a supporting role in this structure. The new Gahanna Lincoln High School is already operating, while additions at Middle School South and Middle School West are scheduled for later completion. Those additions remain future capacity. The durable pattern is local elementary access, three middle-school communities, and one large high school serving a fast-growing, multilingual district.
