Kettering City Schools Calendar 2026-2027

Kettering City Schools serves Kettering and part of Moraine through an early childhood center, eight elementary schools, one unified middle-school program, and Kettering Fairmont High School. The elementary schools continue through grade five. Beginning with the 2026–27 school year, all students in grades six through eight belong to Kettering Fairmont Middle School, replacing the former division between two separately named middle schools.

The unified middle-school identity is a current organizational change; the future purpose-built facility remains a separate matter. It creates one academic and extracurricular program for the full district cohort beginning in sixth grade while the district continues to carry out its longer-term facilities plan. The present grade structure is already in force, while any purpose-built facility belongs to a later phase.

Fairmont High School is a large comprehensive campus organized to offer both breadth and smaller points of support. International Baccalaureate, Advanced Placement, Career Tech, more than two hundred courses, unit principals, and numerous activities operate within the same school. Kettering also extends career awareness from the elementary grades through middle-school exploration and later high-school tracks in Career Tech, advanced studies, work-based learning, and dual enrollment. The most consequential recent change occurs before high school: students who once entered two separately named middle schools now join one districtwide program in grade six.
