Lakota Local Schools Calendar 2026-2027

Lakota Local Schools currently uses one of the more layered grade configurations in suburban Ohio. Six early childhood schools serve kindergarten through grade two, eight elementary schools serve grades three through six, and four junior schools serve grades seven and eight. Students then enter either the East or West high-school community, but ninth grade is still a separate building stage: Lakota East and Lakota West each operate a freshman campus before students move to the corresponding main campus for grades ten through twelve.

Lakota Central provides online and alternative high-school arrangements for students whose needs are not met by the ordinary East or West schedule. Enrollment in that setting is coordinated through counselors or administrators. Lakota Central operates outside the two address-based comprehensive feeders.

A facilities proposal placed on the November 2026 ballot would eventually simplify the system to preschool, K–5, 6–8, and 9–12 grade bands, move freshmen onto the two main high-school campuses, and close or repurpose buildings after construction. None of those changes is yet the operating structure. Until a proposal is approved and implemented, the current family route remains K–2, 3–6, 7–8, freshman campus, and upper high school.
